Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between 'Add GST' and 'Remove GST'?
'Add GST' takes a base price (excluding tax) and adds GST on top to give you the final price. 'Remove GST' takes a GST-inclusive price and works backward to find the original base amount and the tax portion.
How is GST removed from an inclusive amount?
The base amount is calculated as (inclusive amount × 100) ÷ (100 + GST rate). The difference between the inclusive amount and this base is the GST amount.
Which GST rates are most common in India?
The most commonly used GST slabs are 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28%. These are available as quick-select buttons, or you can enter any custom rate.
